Minibeast hunters

We helped to plant new plants around the new bee and butterfly garden.
Good team work. Working together gets the job done!
More super team work!
We hope the new plants attract lots of bees and butterflies so that we can watch them.

We hunted for mini beasts around our school grounds and some of us decided to paint what we had found. Can you guess what mini beasts we spotted?

We found out that spiders have 8 legs. We made some of our own with the octogans.

Some of us made posters or information sheets to show different mini beasts around us.
Our new mud kitchen is great fun!

We are open daily and are currently serving a menu of mud pies and cakes with added chocolate sticks and chocolate drops(stones). Yum!

Our child-led planning is fantastic. Caron made a recipe for chocolate slab. She then made a shopping list for Mrs Hough!

She and Frances made the recipe and then Caron took it home to sell at the local cake sale.

Bird spotters

U
We had a great week finding out about the birds which are likely to visit our garden in the winter time.
We did some bird watching of our own from our outdoor area using binoculars we made ourselves!
We made some bird feeders to try and attract more birds to our outside area.

We made bird masks and even went on to make our own bird wings!

Class Four helped us decide where to hang our feeders.

Mr Hough came in to answer our bird questions. He also showed us a range of interesting bird feathers.

Let it snow!!

We had super fun in the snow on Tuesday. We even made spheres using the snow!
